Competition Terms and Conditions
1. Eligibility
The competition is open to residents of South Africa only.
Entrants must comply with the entry requirements stated on the relevant competition post.
Employees, representatives or immediate family members of Batdads Braai may not enter.
2. Entry Requirements
Entrants must follow the instructions stipulated on the competition post.
Where applicable, this may include:
- Following Batdads Braai on Facebook and/or Instagram.
- Commenting on the competition post.
- Tagging the required number of friends.
- Sharing the competition post where specifically stated as an entry requirement.
Entries must be submitted before the closing date and time advertised.
3. Genuine Accounts
The competition is open to genuine personal social-media accounts only.
Competition-only, duplicate, automated, fake or multiple accounts may be excluded at the discretion of Batdads Braai.
Batdads Braai reserves the right to verify an entrant's account and compliance with the entry requirements before awarding the prize.
4. Winner Selection
The winner will be selected at random from all eligible and verified entries.
The draw may be conducted electronically using a random-selection or wheel application.
The selected entry will be checked to ensure that all competition requirements have been met before the winner is confirmed.
If the selected entrant does not meet the entry requirements or the account is considered ineligible under these Terms & Conditions, another winner may be drawn.
5. Prize
The prize will be the item or items specified in the relevant competition advertisement.
The prize is not transferable and may not be exchanged for cash, credit or another product unless Batdads Braai agrees otherwise.
6. Prize Condition, Faults & Returns
All prizes will be supplied in good working order and, where reasonably possible, checked or tested by Batdads Braai before handover or dispatch.
The winner is requested to inspect and/or test the prize as soon as reasonably possible after receiving it and to notify Batdads Braai promptly if the prize appears to have been defective at the time it was supplied.
Batdads Braai will not be responsible for faults or damage arising after delivery as a result of misuse, accidental damage, incorrect operation, failure to follow product instructions, unauthorised alterations or repairs, neglect, improper storage or normal wear and tear.
Competition prizes may not be returned or exchanged merely because the winner changes their mind, no longer wants the prize or would prefer another product.
Any claim relating to an alleged manufacturing defect or fault will be not be considered as in terms of the South African Consumert Protection Act, I am not a store front and this is a free prize.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude or limit any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.
7. Delivery & Courier Damage
Where Batdads Braai arranges delivery of a prize, the winner must provide accurate delivery and contact information.
The winner should inspect the parcel and product as soon as reasonably possible after delivery and notify Batdads Braai promptly of any obvious courier damage.
Where damage appears to have occurred during transportation, Batdads Braai may require photographs of the packaging and product so that the matter can be taken up with the courier or relevant service provider.
Batdads Braai will not be responsible for delays resulting from circumstances outside its reasonable control.
8. Winner Contact
The winner will be contacted through the contact method stated in the competition or through the social-media account used to enter.
If the winner cannot be contacted or does not respond within a reasonable period stated by Batdads Braai, Batdads Braai reserves the right to draw another eligible winner.
9. Publicity
By accepting the prize, the winner agrees that Batdads Braai may announce their name and/or social-media username as the competition winner, subject to applicable privacy laws.
Any additional photographs or promotional material involving the winner will only be used with the appropriate consent.
10. General
Batdads Braai reserves the right to amend, suspend or cancel a competition where circumstances reasonably require it, subject to applicable law.
Any attempt to manipulate the competition, submit fraudulent entries or unfairly influence the winner-selection process may result in disqualification.
The promoter's decisions regarding administration of the competition and verification of entries will be final, subject to applicable South African law.
11. Social Media Disclaimer
Unless expressly stated otherwise, Batdads Braai competitions are not sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Facebook, Instagram or Meta.
By entering, participants acknowledge that they are providing their information to Batdads Braai and not to Facebook, Instagram or Meta.
12. Consumer Protection
These Terms & Conditions are intended to operate in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 and applicable South African promotional-competition requirements.
